Abstract:
HeLaMed stands for Hessen | Land | Medicine and is a project of the general medical and GP institutes as well as numerous cooperation partners in Hesse to prepare and support students specifically for working in rural medicine.
The reason for HeLaMed is the ‘Act to Safeguard General Practitioner Care and the Public Health Service in Hesse’, which was passed in February 2022. To strengthen rural regions, a quota of up to 7.8% of study places are available at Hesse's leading medical universities. As part of a standardised selection process, applicants with particularly good personal and professional qualifications can be offered a place to study human medicine, regardless of their grade point average.
