Joint project
PLANEAT - Food systems transformation towards healthy and sustainable dietary behaviour
Funder: European Union
Period: 2022-2026
URI: https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101061023
Abstract:
Dietary changes for sustainable food systems
The EU food system has a negative effect on the climate, environment, and public health. However, transforming it requires significant changes to the dietary habits of millions of Europeans. The EU funded PLANEAT project will advance the scientific understanding of factors that influence dietary behaviour and assess the health, environmental and socio-economic impacts of various dietary patterns. The project will work closely with food industry players, consumers and policymakers to create a pan European network of nine living labs and a policy lab. It will study the dietary patterns and food environments of nine different target groups from nine regions, identify the drivers of dietary behaviour, and develop and implement a true cost accounting database and methodology.
