Abstract:
In the project ‘SCLaKE: Social Change Lab for Knowledge Equity: Developing critical thinking competences in natural resource use’, Dr Stéphanie Domptail from the Chair of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Policy at JLU is working with the Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) and the University of Botswana to create a laboratory for change and thus a space for knowledge equity in research and teaching. The goal is a more holistic and sustainable management of the earth's social and natural resources. Assuming that culture and power play an immense role in shaping economic theory and its application in agricultural and rural development, the project members will apply the insights of decolonial thinking and epistemology developed in the social sciences to the field of agricultural and development economics.
