Accumulations of pigeon faeces can occur in considerable amounts in areas where these birds live. Workers who are cleaning, redeveloping or repairing bridges, fronts of buildings or lofts are often exposed to pollutions of pigeons. This review will focus on the possible health risks of workers during cleaning contaminated places. Often Cryptococcus neoformans, Chlamydophila psittaci and Campylobacter spp. were found in fecal droppings. Salmonella spp. are rarely encounted and Mycobacterium spp., Yersinia spp. as well as Listeria spp. are very rarely isolated.
