A new species of Porcellanid crab from the western Pacific, Petrolisthes bifidus, is described. The species is similar to the species of Borradaile's Petrolisthes lamarckii complex, but is distinguishable from all comparable species by the unusual form of the dactyli of the walking legs, a character so far unique for a Petrolisthes species.
