Abstract: 

A new species of the cixiid tribe Bennini from Sulawesi is described and
a new genus is erected to accommodate it. This is the first record of a
Bennini from Sulawesi and the first discovery of this group in a
subterranean environment. We report preliminary observations of its
ecology and behaviour. According to the ecological parameters of its
habitat and its morphological configuration, Celebenna thomarosa is ecologically classified as an exapted eutroglophile accidental.
