Abstract
A tetranuclear copper(I) complex [Cu-4(L-2)Cl-4] with a new macrocyclic ligand derived from the [4 + 4] condensation of ethylenediamine and isophthalaldehyde was synthesized and structurally characterized. The copper(I) ions are coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral manner by two imine nitrogen and two chloro donor atoms. The copper copper separation is 3.056(2) Angstrom.
