Postsource decay–matrix assisted laser desorption ionization (“PSD-MALDI”) [1–7] has become one of the most powerful methods for mass spectrometrical structure analysis of biopolymers. Due to its high sensitivity in the range of 100 fmol and its high tolerance of sample impurities and sample inhomogeneity, the method found broad acceptance and application rather rapidly.
