Abstract
The electrical and mechanical properties of N-butyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfon)imide (BMP-TFSI) lithium electrolyte with 15 wt.% LiTESI as conducting salt are reported. The conductivity and the viscosity for the neat electrolyte as well as for IL/solid dispersions with different types of silica nanoparticles (commercially available silica nanoparticles, mesoporous KIT-6 silica and surface-modified silica nanoparticles) as second phase are reported. Systematic conductivity and viscosity data are presented, and their correlation suggests that the partial conductivity of at least one ion is enhanced. It is concluded that an interface effect is indeed responsible for this effect. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
