Abstract
Current guidelines recommended the use of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) parallel to psychotherapeutic treatment for sexual offenders. Long lasting ADT potentially leads to rapid bone loss and thus to an increased osteoporosis and fracture risk. We report a case of osteoporosis and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus already after 3 years of ADT. Osteologic referral happened only after 7 years of ADT. Preventive and specific osteologic treatment finally lead to an increase in bone mineral density.
