Abstract
Medical experts are needed to help judges reach a decision. Experts writing their opinion are not simple witnesses, but authorities on a special subject. They ordered by, for example, the prosecution or a civil, social or criminal court, and although regarded as an auxiliary person to support the judges, experts can make mistakes. There is a civil law concerning the liability of medical experts and it is possible to refuse an expert named by the prosecution or a court.
