Abstract: 
The German penal code (StGB) contains different provisions for penalization of sexual violence and sexual abuse against children and adolescents. In this article the cohabitation between relatives in chapter 12 (criminal offences against civil status, marriage and family), criminal offences against sexual self-determination in chapter 17 and criminal offences against personal freedom of children and adolescents in chapter 18 of the German penal code are discussed. Several offences and problems are exemplified based on the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court.
