Abstract:
The reaction of a tungsten acetylide complex [(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)-(NO)W-C C-R]Li (1) [1a, R = C6H5; 1b, R = C(CH3)3; 1c, R = Si(CH3)31 with one equivalent of ferrocenium, tetrafluoroborate [Cp2Fe][BF4], acting as a one-electron oxidant in THF at -50 degrees C, leads to the bimetallic tungsten-alkynyl complexes [(eta(5)-C5H5)(NO)W-C C-R](2) (9) [9a, R = C6H5; 9b, R = C(CH3) (3); 9c, R = Si(CH3)(3)] as pale-orange crystals. The crystal structure of complex 9a is reported. (c) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim., Germany, 2006.
