Abstract
This contribution offers suggestions for a thoroughly naturalistic understanding of learning on the basis of evolutionary theory. Accordingly, learning should be interpreted as the realization of genetic programs. Adaptive specialization of information processing in the brain means that not just anything can be learnt, but only those things are learnt, which a person is naturally adapted to. Learning is, therefore, adaptive adjustment and is lead by evolved personal interests.
