Abstract
An approximately one meter long Brown Housesnake (Lamprophis fuliginosus fuliginosus) with an abdominal extension was presented in the practice. Although the snake had not eaten, this condition had existed for several weeks. X-ray examination revealed a homogenous soft tissue shadow of approximately 2 X 6 cm. The growth was tentatively diagnosed as a tumor, and a diagnostic laparascopy was performed. The growth, which was encapsulated and supplied by two blood vessels, was removed. The histological examination of the tissue led to the diagnosis seminoma. After 18 months the abdominal extension reappeared. Before the second surgery could be performed, the snake died.
