Abstract
Absolute cross sections for 2s-electron photoionization of atomic oxygen into the final ionic states O+ (2s(-1) P-4(e), D-2(e) S-2(e), P-2(e)) and for the occupation of the O+ (3s P-2,4(e)) Satellite states have been determined experimentally by photon-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. Comparison of the experimental results with theoretical predictions using multiconfiguration-interaction wavefunctions employing the ab initio R-matrix technique are made. Suitable harmony is seen only in the case of cross section ratios for 2s(-1) removal or 3 s-satellite excitation. [S1050-2947(99)02011-9].
