Abstract
In the urban area of Restock, Northern Germany, the proportion of soils under gardening use is 9 %. 932 soils of allotments in the urban area of Restock, Northern Germany, were tested for consideration and assessment. The average of pH value was 6,4, the content of plant available phosphorus 35 mg 100 g(-1), potassium 20 mg 100 g(-1) and magnesium 21 mg 100 g(-1). The determined nutrient supply is partially legible higher than the optimal contents given for agricultural soils in the surrounding countryside. Because of this it is sometimes impossible to produce food plants with high quality for the personal use. Soils in allotments on the outskirts of the town are characterized by higher nutrient contents compared with soils under gardening use in the city centre.
