Abstract:
During two years (1989, 1990), experiments were carried out to study the influence of fungicides and genetically different cultivars (cvs.: ''Vuka'', ''Sorbas'', ''Ares'') on diseases in the agro-ecosystem of winter wheat. Main topic was the detection of side effects on single diseases which resulted in so called iatrogenic effects. Apart from generally satisfactory effects on target-pathogens of the fungicides applied a number of positive and negative side-effects on non-target pathogens were observed: Pyrazophos reduced and Carbendazim inhibited severity of Septoria spp., whilst the latter fungicide seems to favour Puccinia striiformis. Propiconazol seems to favour Puccinia recondita. The reasons for these side-effects are discussed as well as the prospects of iatrogenic diseases in case of favouring effects.
