Abstract: 
The effect of organic matter content on the consistency of soils different in texture was investigated. The shifts of the values of the consistency limits towards higher moisture contents are explained by different organic matter contents. The consistency limits of plasticity and liquidity were significantly dependent on the content of organic matter.
