Abstract
Effective self-diffusion coefficients of the polar non-electrolyte urea were obtained from tracer experiments with C-14-urea. For a membrane loaded with Na+ the tracer-diffusion coefficient was investigated as a function of the total urea concentration. Also tracer-diffusion was observed for membranes loaded with different counterions at constant urea concentration in solution.
