Abstract
The diffusion of ions in a structurally disordered lattice (percolation model), where the Coulomb interaction between the mobile ions is explicitely taken into account, is investigated by Monte Carlo simulations. It is shown that both the dispersion of the conductivity and the deviations of the spin-lattice relaxation rate from the Bloembergen-Purcell-Pound behaviour are caused by the interplay between structural disorder and long range Coulomb interaction. Specifically, it is shown that the characteristic quantities describing sigma(omega, T) and 1/T-1(omega, T)(exponents n(sigma),n(SLR), and relaxation times tau(sigma),tau(SLR)) show a different temperature dependence. When enhancing the disorder and approaching p,, a characteristic slowing of the spin-lattice relaxation time, tau(SLR), is observed, while the conductivity relaxation time, tau(sigma), remains practically unchanged.
