Abstract

During two years (1989, 1990), field experiments were carried out to study the influence of fungicides and different cultivars ('Ares', 'Sorbas', 'Vuka') on pests in the agroecosystem of winter wheat. The emphasis was on the detection of side effects on single pests which may result in iatrogenic effects.

The foliar fungicide Pyrazophos increased the incidence of aphids and Thysanoptera but decreased the incidence of Oulema spp. and saddle midges.

The application of anilazine resulted in higher frequencies of Contarinia tritici and Sitodiplosis mosellana and inhibited aphids.

The broad spectrum fungicides Propiconazol and Fenpropimorph inhibited Thysanoptera and gall-midges but increased the frequency of aphids. Propiconazol also increased the incidence of Oulema spp. on the leaves of winter wheat.
