Abstract
Primary leaves of the oat cv. 'Park' react with a substantial synthesis of the antifungal avenalumin 1, when challenged with Drechslera victoriae. A high level of this phytoalexin is already reached 12 h p.i. This model system offers the chance to study the influence of ecological parameters on the resistance potential in oat tissue, determined by quantitative HPLC analysis of the defined resistance factor avenalumin 1.
