Abstract
The EUF fraction of top soil (0-30 cm) and the residual nitrate content of soil (0-90 cm) were analyzed in 41 trial sites cultivated with winter wheat in summer and autumn 1992. Furthermore quantity of N fertilizer applied, yields and N uptake were correlated against the residual nitrate contents. By using multiple regression equations residual nitrate content in autum can be estimated accurately by means of EUF fractions analyzed from the top soil in summer. For more details see summary at the end of this paper.
