Abstract

1. Electrocardiogram (ECG) was recorded of the systemic heart of Sepia officinalis L. from both isolated auricle-ventricle preparations.

2. The peptides FMRFamide and FLRFamide evoked a concentration-dependent increase of the bioelectrical signals of the auricle ("P"-wave) and ventricle ("R"-spike) as well as a positive dromotropic effect, i.e. a shortening of the AV-interval.
