SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF HYDRIDOTRISPYRAZOLYL BORATE HETEROBIMETAL COMPLEXES WITH TITANIUM MOLYBDENUM

Abstract
The reaction of TiCl4 with (C6H5)2P(CH2CH2O)nH (2) and K[(Pz*)3BH] affords the complexes Tp*TiCl2(OCH2CH2)nP(C6H5)2 (n = 1-3) (3), Tp*TiCl[(OCH2CH2)nP(C6H5)2]2 (n = 1-3) (4) and Tp*Ti[(OCH2CH2)nP(C6H5)2]3 (n = 1-3) (5) which are then converted into the heterobinuclear complexes 8 and 9. Similarly, we succeeded in the synthesis of the heterobimetallacycles Tp*TiCl[OCH2CH2P(C6H5)2]2Mo(CO)4 (13) and Tp*TiC][OCH2P(C6H5)2]2Mo(CO)4 (14) by the use of (CO)4Mo[P(C6H5)2CH2OH]2 (10) and (CO)4Mo[P(C6H5)2(CH2CH2O)nH]2 (n = 1-2) (11). The shortest distance between Ti and Mo according to the crystal structure analysis is 5.393 angstrom.
