Abstract
Pregnancy in diabetic women implicates an increased risk for mother and child. Fetal monitoring is exigent and the oxytocin challenge test offers a physiological possibility to examine the condition of the fetus at risk. Fetal hypoxia is indicated by contraction related decelerations of the fetal heart rate. A normal oxytocin challenge test allows further expectative management of pregnancy.
