Abstract
A semimicroscopic algebraic description of nuclear cluster states is proposed in terms of the vibron model coupled to the SU (3) shell model, for the relative motion and internal cluster structure, respectively. As an illustrative example the Mg-24+alpha-system is considered within the dynamical symmetry approach.
