Abstract
Several profile sections from the Lower and Upper Cretaceous of the Cordillera Oriental in Colombia were investigated. In almost all samples from the Cundinamarca Basin the palynomorphs were destroyed or carbonized by thermal influence. Only one outcrop in the Magdalena Superior contained a poor palynoflora in some samples. The palynofacies shows lower offshore stagnant bottom conditions with high activity of sulfate-reducing bacteria. From this profile the taxa Coronifera kirae sp. nov. and Ocalasphaera blindii gen. et sp. nov. are described.
