Abstract: 

For the first time colourless single crystals of Cs2Li2[SiO4] have been prepared by heating of a well ground mixture of the binary oxides CsO0.67, LiO0.5 and SiO2[Cs:Li:Si = 2.2:2.0:1.0; 450-degrees-C; 21 d] in tightly closed Ni tubes. The new oxosilicate crystallizes triclinic (space group P1BAR with a = 959.6(3), b = 577.4(2), c = 558.1(2)pm, alpha = 95.52(3)-degrees, beta = 110.93(3)-degrees, gamma = 94.45(3)-degrees, Guinier-Simon powder data). The crystal structure was determined by four-circle diffractometer data [Siemens AED2, 1612 I(o)(hkl), Z = 2, R = 7.2%, R(w) = 6,5%], parameters see text.

Cs2Li2[TiO4] has also been prepared as colourless single crystalls from CsO0.56, LiO0.5 und TiO2 (Cs:Li:Ti = 2.3:2.2:1.0; 650-degrees-C; 68 d, Ni tube] and investigated by x-ray [four-circle diffractometer data, Philips PW 1100, 2193 from 2383 I(o)(hkl), Z = 2, R = 7.6%, R(w) = 6.1%, space group PlBAR with a = 951.0(1), b = 594.5(1), c = 582.6(1) pm, alpha = 93.11(1)-degrees, beta = 110.37(1)-degrees, gamma = 95.04(1)-degrees, Guinier-Simon powder data]. The Madelung Part of Lattice Energy, MAPLE, and Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, these via Mean Fictive Ionic Radii, MEFIR, have been calculated. A detailed comparison of the structures is carried out.
