Abstract

During a period of five years with oilseed rape the effects of the triazol-type plant growth regulator Triapenthenol upon the yield structure and plant height were tested by pot experiments. The experiments were carried out to examine the influence of time of application on yield components total and in different plant positions. The plants were divided in three fractions: main shoot, lateral shoots 1-3 and lateral shoots > 3.

Triapenthenol strongly reduced plant height and length of lateral shoots when applied in ES 37/39, less in ES 51/53 and ES 57/61. Inspite of reduced elongation improved number of pods was found when Triapenthenol was applied in ES 37/39 and ES 51/53. Number of seeds and seed yield were less than the control, especially when treated in ES 37/39. The thousand kernels weight remained unchanged.

Application in ES 51/53 and 57/61 increased significantly number of pods and seeds and seed yield in lateral shoots > 3, whereas they were less in the fraction main shoots.
