Abstract
Organo-mineral complexes were isolated quantitatively from differently fertilized plots of three long-term field experiments, using ultrasonic disaggregation and sedimentation. In all samples the C and N contents decreased with increasing equivalent diameter from the fine and medium clay complexes to the coarse silt complexes. Different fertilization led to considerable differences in the C and N levels of all fractions and in their shares in the total N and C contents of the soil. From these results conclusions are drawn concerning the significance of individual organo-mineral fractions for the soil organic matter status.
