Abstract
Axius gundlachi von Martens, Axiopsis serratifrons (A. Milne Edwards) and Coralaxius abelei Kensley and Gore are the first representatives of the family Axiidae to be reported from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. All three species are hitherto known from only few widespread localities in the Caribbean and Westindian region. Axius gundlachi is redescribed and figured in some detail.
