Abstract:
Saprobic tolerances of 63 running water species collected in the Vogelsberg area (Hessia, West-Germany) are listed. Correlations between resistances to pollution and longitudinal distributions in the streams are discussed, and effects of pollution on the Trichoptera communities of running waters are analysed. Some remarks are given on the use of caddisflies as bioindicators.
