We have intestigated the B = 2 system in the linear and the nonlinear σ-model with explicit quark degrees of freedom. We have found that the solution of lowest energy is obtained by assuming the hedgehog ansatz and occupying the 0+ and 1+ Orbitals, which leads to meson fields with winding number n = 1. The B = 2 rms radius is significantly larger than that for the B = 1 system, whereas the potential energy V(0) of the various B = 2 configurations strongly depends on the parameters. A solution corresponding to the skyrmion model with n = B = 2 is obtained by occupation of the 0+ and 0− orbitals, but has a significantly higher energy than the n = 1 configuration.
