Abstract

ubthreshold pion production in the 16O + 16O reaction is studied in the TDHF formalism. In order to obtain the production cross section we perform calculations at finite impact parameters, using a three-dimensional TDHF code. The physical implications of the calculated impact-parameter dependence are discussed and the obtained results are compared with experiment.
