Abstract:
Ammonia accumulation started at 0-5.degree. C and reached its maximum at 65.degree. C. The accumulation of nitrate showed its maximum at 25.degree. C after an incubation of 15 days and at 30.degree. C after 44 days. More nitrate than ammonium was found between 15 and 30.degree. C. A certain parallelism exists between the amounts of nitrate and the mass of roots [Lupinus luteus] at several temperatures. From 35 to 55.degree. C the accumulation of nitrate decreased very quickly and at 65 to 75.degree. C an increase could be found only in traces.
