Abstract
Lettuce plants with virus-like symptoms from several regions of Turkey yielded lettuce mosaic virus (LMV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), and broad bean wilt virus (BBWV). They were identified according to their symptoms on indicator plants, physical properties, particle morphology, and serological reaction in the Ouchterlony-test. LMV was predominant with 57%, followed by CMV (17%), LMV + CMV (15%) and BBWV (3%). The latter was detected for the 1st time on lettuce in Turkey.
