Abstract

B(M1) values of 157Ho are calculated within a quasiparticle-rotor model with a rotation-dependent interaction between core and quasiparticle. The dominant peak in the transition probabilities in the backbending region as well as the decrease of the signature splitting beyond the band crossing is reproduced. In addition, calculated B(M1)-transition rates in the low spin region for several Yb-isotopes are in accordance with the empirical data.
