Abstract
Haemolymph, fat-body and testes homogenate proteins were studied in adult and intercalary males of the millipede, Tachypodoiulus niger (leach 1815) by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Protein patterns are described here in diplopods for the first time. Only in intercalary males a protein with a high molecular weight (235000 D) was found. A possible role of this protein in starting spermatogenesis is discussed.
