Abstract:
Reciprocal crossbreds between German Landrace and German Edelschwein showed in liver mitochondria small to medium, an inscrotal mitochdria higher alterations in activities of Cytochrome(cyt.)-c-oxydase (CO) an NADH-Cyt.-c-reductase, which can be explained as heterotic effects. There were more distinct in CO (22-45%) and Cytochrome a and b in heart mitochondria than those in NADH-Cyt.-c-Red., Cytochrome c and Falvinproteins. With exception of the membrane bound succinate-dehydrogenase of heart motchondria of all other enzymes of the Krebs-Matrius-cycle (GLDH, GOT, NADH-ICDH and NADPH-ICDH) showed no significant differences between the parental breeds and their F1. Analogous are the results in the glycolytic and the glyconeogenetic enzymes. Heterotic effects in the anaerobe energy metabolism must be denied. The oxydative energy metabolism in the mitochondria is one of the most important cell physiological regions of heterotic manifestation. The heterosis of the chromosomal genetic component of the respiratory chain show half of the effects of those of the enzymes of the mitochondrial inner membrane. The synthesis of the last components of the mitochondrial inner membrane. The synthesis of the last components of the respiratory chain results from the code-function of mitanondrial respiration and its interaction with DNA. To identify heterosis and for early diagnosis of heterotic effects in young crossbred animals before using them in production, the oxydative energy metabolism (O2 uptake, oxydative phosphorization, CO etc.) is suitable. In the formation of heterosis the interaction between chromosomal and mitochondrial genes plays an important role.
