Abstract
Comparative investigations were carried out in 5 hard water brooks of the Eder reservoir, rich in Ca, to prove the validity of indication as to macrophytes and microphytes with regard to the water quality. There were good correlations of the saprobicity evaluation by microphytes and macrophytes, especially in the oligosaprobic and .beta.-mesosaprobic reach. Macrophytes Berula erecta, Callitriche sp., Nasturtium microphyllum and Veronica anagallis-aquatica showed in their abundance negative correlation to the ammonium concentration beginning with 0.5 mg/l. No effect of the phosphate concentrations could be observed on the macrophytes.
