Abstract: 
L4 E. varivestis larvae were fed for 3 days on beans sprayed with low concentrations of a methanolic neem seed kernel extract. Following treatment with 15 and 20-30 mg/l solutions, 12% and only .apprx. 1%, respectively, normal adults were obtained. At 15 mg/l this was due to the formation of a high percentage of abnormal adults and at 20-30 mg/l mainly to larval mortality.
