Current distributions for collective rotations have been obtained from self-consistent solutions of the cranked HF and HFB equations for the Skyrme force for a rare-earth nucleus. Currents are shown both for the ground-state band as well as for very high-spin states. The effects of the pairing correlations and those of a rotational alignment of single nucleons are discussed. A decomposition of the currents into irrotational and rigid components is performed.
