Abstract

First and second moments of the charge distribution for the reaction86K +166Er have been calculated assuming a thermal equilibrium model. The moments are calculated microscopically on the basis of a realistic two-center shell model as a function of distance as well as of excitation energy. The experimentally observed constancy of the first moments is reproduced.
