Abstract
Five milk samples were taken from 4 sows within the first 2 days postpartum and 4 more samples in the course of lactation until the weaning of the piglets on the 35th day. The fat was analyzed by gas chromatography. In total 37 fatty acids were determined, not all in all 4 animals and not during the whole lactation period. The results of the tests were compared with data from the literature and fatty acid patterns of milk fat from man, cow, sheep and goat.
