Abstract
Young oocytes of the loach, N. barbatulus (L.), were studied by EM. Fistular paracrystalline bodies are found in the oocytes during state I. They consist of many osmiophilic particles with a diameter of 150-300 .ANG.. Ultrahistochemical experiments demonstrated that the paracrystalline bodies are mainly composed of proteins and are yolk precursors.
