Abstract
For the 1st time the teleost-micropyle was demonstrated by transmission electron microscopy. The micropyle of N. barbatulus was established in late stage I and its formation was finished in late stage III. The micropyles of both species were formed by a modified follicle cell. The micropyle of N. barbatulus was formed by the cortex radiatus externus and the cortex radiatus internus, while the micropyle of G. gobio was formed only by the cortex radiatus internus. The function of teleost-micropyle was discussed.
