Abstract
The oocytes were very basophilic in stage I. Acid lipids were present already in this stage. Polysaccharides were not demonstrable during stage I. The cortex radiatus internus of N. barbatulus and G. gobio consisted of proteins and neutral lipids. The cortex radiatus externus was mainly composed of polysaccharides, with acid mucopolysaccharides predominate in Gobio. The cortex radiatus externus of both species contained some protein. The cortical alveoli contained mostly acid mucopolysaccharides. During stage II neutral lipids (triglycerides) were demonstrated in yolk and cytoplasm. The yolk of both species consisted of proteins, lipids and polysaccharides. The yolk-platelets of N. barbatulus were zonated. The central portion consisted of proteins and lipids, while the 2 lateral portions were mostly composed of proteins and acid mucopolysaccharide.
