Abstract
Plant sensitivity to F- emissions of a glass factory was determined. All exposed test plants and plants cultivated in small gardens near the factory showed a decline in F- content with increasing distance from the factory. Following the criteria used to estimate the effect of F- emissions on lichens, the species Pseudevernia furfuraceae, Parmelia sulcata and Hypogymnia physodes were classified as F- sensitive indicators but P. acetabulum was a resistant accumulation indicator. A linear correlation between F- content of leaves and area of necroses was established in gladiolus, sensitive bioindicators. The accumulation indicator, Lolium multiflorum was a good indicator of the degree of F- emission.
